Health & Safety

Health and safety are at the core of our culture. We believe every incident is preventable—and we’ve built systems, behaviours, and leadership frameworks to make that belief a reality.

  • Our group-wide Safety Management System is certified to OHSAS 18001 and supports legally compliant, industry-leading practices.
  • ‘The Byrne Way’ behavioural safety programme focuses on changing mindsets as well as methods, helping create incident- and injury-free (IIF) environments.
  • We promote visible leadership, personal accountability, and shared learning across all levels of the organisation.

Sustainability

Sustainability is built into our assurance strategy—not added onto it. We recognise our responsibility to reduce impact and lead the way in sustainable construction methods.

  • Our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System governs how we plan, monitor, and improve our environmental performance.
  • We reuse materials wherever possible, cutting waste and transport. On one project alone, we saved 20,000 road miles and repurposed over 18,000 tonnes of material.
  • We’ve used over 50,000 tonnes of responsibly sourced steel—enough to build eight Eiffel Towers.
  • Our modern HGV fleet maintains an average age of just 4.25 years, ensuring emissions stay well below London LEZ requirements.
