People Like Me

Through our membership of WISE (Women in Science and Engineering), Byrne Bros (Formwork) Ltd have been involved in the production of the People Like Me resource pack for schools, with a specific focus on Careers in Construction.

The pack was launched internally on International Women in Engineering Day (23^rd June 2017) and an external launch is planned for mid-July.

Other contributors on this project are Balfour Beatty, Bam Nuttall, and Skanska, and it is endorsed by John Laverty – Head of Education & Inspiration, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Michelle Freeman and Martina Oyite spent time at the Skanska Learning Resource Centre recently to complete their initial training with Wise.   Over the coming weeks, they will start to deliver outreach sessions to children between 11 and 14 at schools where we have established links, as well as collaborating with the other contributors on events and activities to inspire girls to consider our industry to find great careers.
